Crystal had been attending church on and off her whole life, so when her sister invited her to River of Life Church, she accepted, not knowing God had a new beginning for her there. Crystal says, “From the moment I walked through the doors I could feel the love of God.” That is where her relationship with God really began. She immediately started serving on the Praise and Worship team and various other ministries in the church.
In 1998, she would meet her husband James, and the two were married the following year. In 2000, she left the comfort of her friends and church family and made the first of many moves to follow the call of God on her life by relocating to California to attend Spirit Life Bible College with her husband.
The next move came in 2004 as she and James would once again follow the call of God to Treviso, Italy where they spent nearly six years engaging in church-planting in the Veneto Region.
In 2010, she returned to River of Life in Jacksonville, North Carolina where she and James began pioneering new ways to reach the surrounding areas with the love of Jesus. The next chapter of her life came in 2016 as she and her husband would assume the leadership role as site pastors for the River of Life Virginia Campus.
Crystal is passionate about World Missions and she has had the privilege to travel to many nations and see what God is doing to build His church today. One of her greatest passions is to raise up women in the body of Christ to discover their callings and develop their giftings.
She enjoys spending time with her three children, James III, Eliyah, and Miriam. She loves hiking, and traveling to new places with her family. Her favorite quote is “ Don’t go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” Crystal is endeavoring to do just that.
